My 40th birthday was nothing short of AMAZING. I really do have a lot of friends and family who take such great care of me. I have been building up this day for the last 5 years. It exceeded my expectations, as I was surrounded by some of my favorite people. Many thanks to my husband for the worlds sweetest speech and for getting the party started, to Ors, Vaux, Butts and Theckston for helping Harv plan the details and to Sean and Prita for the best poem ever (see below) This will go down in the books as my FAVORITE birthday party EVER.

We’re here to celebrate fabulous YOU!
Amy has written poems for so many of us here
We decided SHE deserved one this year!
Surrounded by so many people she loves, tonight is her ball
She’s turning 40 afterall!
Amy truly has a heart of gold
So it was easy to write this little ‘ode
Many words describe her, thoughtful, generous and kind.
Harv got real lucky, she was one hell of a find!
She is full of spunk and sass, but so passionate and true
She is on the short list of great friends for many of you.
Growing up she was the cool kid, had friends that were hot
too bad for me, I never had a shot!
When I graduated from college, I planned to live in a bachelor pad
Instead I watched the Bachelor while living with my sister
I know… so sad!
My sister and I remain close to this very day
That’s easy to do – she lives two doors away!
Her kids are her life… for them there is nothing she would not do
Roderick, McKenna and Kyler Hayden too
She may be small but she’s oh so mighty
And oh by golly - she really loves everything nice and tidy!
Amy hates to cook
and you won’t find her with a book
But she loves to exercise, she will run for a whole day
All while pushing a stroller and solving the world’s problems away
At times she can be a bit outrageous,
oh my gosh, look at that, do you think it’s contagious?
Chemicals and offgas are worrisome too,
and… haven’t you heard… the swine flu is true?!?!
Never heard someone so loud and raspy when she talks,
wait a minute, scratch that, yep we hear Vaux!
Amy will tell you the best thing one can do
is become a COUG and go to WAZZU.
Crimson and Gray are her colors no doubt,
Pi Phi + Theta Chi = lets party, pass out
Her days as a Pi Phi were some of the best,
You can’t relive a party but you can always retake a test!
Her house is always full of kids –it seems to have a revolving door
She never minds though and is always happy to take more
Our kids think she’s the best – that she hung the moon
Even when she sings loud and SO out of tune
The Mckenna family can be a crazy crew
All these years, Amy has helped me through
A better sister-in-law than I could have ever hoped for
I really am so glad to have her right next door!
So grab your glass and get ready to give a cheer
For this wonderful gal we hold so dear

You know I can't just have ONE party!!! The 40th celebration continued the following weekend at the Alderbrook Resort with some of our favorite families - The Mckenna's, the Hentschell's, and Erik, Maria, Kourtney and Gabby (because there is NO way I can attempt to spell their last name - LOL)
The weekend was full of swimming, hikes, scavenger hunts, video games in the game room, more swimming, big dinner parties, a spa day for the girls, a few drinks, lots of laughter and a lifetime of great memories. I think I should turn 40 more often!
